Could we see another manufacturer on the grid in 2019?
Heading into the main brunt of negotiations and rumours for the 2019 season, speculation is rife regarding the grid next season, and Speedweek are reporting we are set to see Suzuki back in the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship – with Bradley Ray as a strong contender to be the rider.
The German website understand that Steve Hicken’s Suzuki backed team will make the step up onto the world stage next season, following years in the domestic British championships. 21 year old Ray has set the UK alight this season, doing the double in the opening round at Donington Park and continuing to grow and develop as a rider.
Competing in the Prosecco DOC UK Round as a wild card, Ray was able to secure points in both races despite racing without the electronics package found on WorldSBK machines, which Speedweek are saying has made a big impact. Looking for factory support from the Japanese manufacturer - similar to that found in MotoAmerica - it could be an exciting addition to the WorldSBK grid.
